Whether you’re seasoned on the runway or stepping into your first casting, this is your opportunity to be part of a culture-driven fashion experience rooted in creativity, confidence, and community.

The Summer Classic will highlight stylists and collectors bringing together curated looks, personal style, and storytelling through fashion. We’re looking for models who can embody presence, individuality, and energy on the runway.

Wild Style: A Culture talk on film

Presented by Culxr House x Omaha Performing Arts Hip Hop Lab

Step into the roots of hip hop culture with a special screening and community conversation centered around the classic film Wild Style. Hosted at Culxr House in collaboration with the Omaha Performing Arts Hip Hop Lab, this experience is more than a film showing it’s a deep dive into the origins, influence, and lasting impact of hip hop across generations.

Wild Style captures the raw energy of early hip hop culture in New York City, highlighting graffiti, DJing, MCing, and breakdancing at a time when the movement was still underground. Through this screening, we invite artists, creatives, and community members to engage with the film as both a historical document and a source of inspiration.

Following the screening, join us for a guided culture talk featuring voices from the local hip hop community. Together, we’ll explore how the foundations of hip hop continue to shape art, fashion, music, and identity both globally and right here in Omaha.

Whether you’re a lifelong fan of the culture or just getting introduced, this is a space to learn, connect, and reflect on what hip hop has been and where it’s going.

As part of our civic mission, we are hosting a focused forum for candidates whose offices represent or directly impact North Omaha residents, including candidates for congressional, county, and legislative offices.

The format of the forum will be simple and respectful of candidates’ time. Each participating candidate will be asked two topical questions related to the responsibilities and scope of the office they are seeking, with an opportunity to briefly share how they would approach those issues if elected.

Our goal is to provide community members with a clearer understanding of how candidates are thinking about the issues that affect North Omaha and the broader Douglas County community.

Culxr House is redefining the open mic experience.

The Culxr House Music League is a creative competition designed to move artists beyond networking and into real collaboration. This format challenges vocalists, producers, and musicians to build, create, and perform together turning ideas into finished records in real time.

How It Works

The Draft Night (Open Mic)
The first night kicks off as a live open mic where artists perform and showcase their sound. Team captains—established artists and Culxr House members—scout talent and build teams based on style, skill, and chemistry.

Team Format
Each team consists of:

• 2 Vocalists

• 1 Producer/Musician

This structure keeps collaboration focused, balanced, and productive.

The Lab (Off Weeks)
Between events, teams enter the lab working together to write, record, and complete one original track. Culxr House also hosts optional workshops to support the creative process and push each team further.

League Night (Competition + Open Mic)
The next open mic becomes the stage for competition:

• Teams perform their original songs live

• The audience decides the winning team

After the competition, the night transitions back into an open mic bringing in new talent and keeping the ecosystem growing.
