Descendants of DeWitty - Live Reenactment

On June 18th we will be hosting The Descendants of DeWitty to hold their live reenactment performance.

The DeWitty African American Settlement was the largest and longest lasting in Nebraska, with its peak population reaching about 150 residents in 1915. The settlement thrived with farming land, a church, schools, general stores, and more. Many former enslaved and other Black homesteaders came to join the community, and their descendants now reside all over the country today.

We hope you join us after the parade on Saturday, June 18th and experience this glimpse into history with us! We are so excited to be hosting this special event in our space for our Juneteenth weekend celebrations.
